LIGHT OF THE WORLD SHINE ON Roger Ferguson At times I walked in shadows dark as blackness of the night My heart was dim and lonely, sad and cold I could not find my way because my sin eclipsed the light I thought I'd gain the world, but lost my soul But I remembered what was taught to me when I was just a kid And I believed the words of Jesus when he spoke to me and said I am the light of the world and whoever follows me (John 8:12) Will never walk in darkness, but have life eternally So Jesus, light of the world, shine on Shine your glory in my heart, Lord- make it bright just like the sun Illuminate the darkness 'til the shadows are all gone Jesus, light of the world, shine on! He called me out of darkness into his wonderful light (1Peter 2:9) The true light that gives light to everyone (John 1:9) He opened up the eyes of my heart -- I can now delight In God's glory shining brightly in His Son And I thank my Lord and Savior for the awesome things he did And I share the words of Jesus Christ, and this is what he said I am the light of the world and whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but have life eternally Chorus The darkest night is over.
